Job summary

Tesco PLC's Digital Design System (DDS) team seeks a Senior Android Engineer to build and evolve DDS Android components, with APIs, accessibility, and strong test coverage. Senior Android Engineer with platform engineering focus and design-system experience.
Ability to translate design to production Android components.
Experience improving developer experience and documentation.
Strong collaboration across design, accessibility, product engineering, and platform teams.
Experience with accessibility and testing.

Responsibilities

Build, maintain, and evolve Tesco DDS Android components with clear APIs.
Translate design system tokens and states into production Android implementations.
Improve developer experience through documentation, onboarding, and tooling.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align DDS across platforms.
Lead through senior engineering craft: architecture, code reviews, mentoring, delivery.
