Job summary

Tesco is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to advance the Digital Design System (DDS) for iOS. You’ll own reusable UI foundations, APIs, accessibility, and documentation across Tesco’s digital estate, collaborating with design, product, and platform teams to ensure scalable, consistent experiences for millions of customers.

You’ll build reusable components, improve tooling and onboarding, and contribute to modern design-to-development workflows using Figma, MCP integrations, and AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Swift and iOS SDK development.
• Experience building accessible iOS components.
• Knowledge of design systems and component APIs.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and evolve iOS DDS components with robust APIs and tests.
• Translate design intent and tokens into production iOS implementations.
• Improve developer experience through docs, onboarding, and tooling.
• Collaborate with design, accessibility, product engineering, and DDS peers.
• Lead with architectural judgment and high-quality communication.
