Job summary

Tesco Technology is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to build and evolve Tesco's Digital Design System (DDS) for Android. You will create reusable components, improve tooling and documentation, and support consuming teams across Tesco's digital estate.

You will collaborate with design, accessibility, product engineering, and DDS peers to keep experiences consistent, scalable, and easy to build, while leading through senior engineering craft and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Senior Android engineer with strong platform mindset.
• Experience turning design tokens and component states into code.
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence architecture.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and evolve Android DDS components with clear APIs and test coverage.
• Translate design intent and tokens into production Android implementations.
• Improve developer experience through docs, onboarding, and tooling.
• Collaborate with design, accessibility, product engineering, and platform peers.
