Job summary

Tesco UK is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to evolve the Digital Design System (DDS) for iOS, building reusable components with strong APIs, accessibility, and release discipline.

You’ll work across Tesco’s digital estate with design, accessibility, product engineering and DDS peers to ensure consistent, scalable experiences. Expect opportunities to learn and grow in a supportive, innovation-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Senior platform engineer with strong iOS foundations and design-system experience; collaboration across teams.
• Experience translating design intent into production iOS components and APIs.
• Proven ability to improve developer experience with docs, tooling, and tutorials.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve Tesco DDS iOS components with clear APIs and test coverage.
• Translate design tokens and interaction guidance into production-ready iOS implementations.
• Improve developer experience through docs, onboarding, examples, and migration tooling.
• Collaborate with design, accessibility, product engineering and DDS peers across iOS, Android, RN and Web.
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to improve quality and speed, responsibly.
• Lead architectural reviews, code reviews, and mentoring of peers.
