Job summary

Tesco UK is hiring a Senior React Native Engineer to advance the Digital Design System for React Native, building reusable UI foundations across Tesco's digital estate.

You will partner with design, accessibility, and DDS teams to ensure scalable, accessible components, with strong emphasis on developer experience and documentation.

This hybrid role offers remote collaboration and in-office collaboration, with opportunities to influence across iOS, Android, RN, and Web.

Qualifications

• Experience building reusable UI components for mobile platforms.
• Strong React Native development experience.
• Familiarity with design systems and accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and evolve Tesco DDS React Native components with accessible APIs and release discipline.
• Translate design intent and tokens into production-ready React Native code.
• Improve developer experience via docs, examples, onboarding, and migration tooling.
• Collaborate with design, accessibility, and platform teams across iOS, Android, RN, and Web.
• Use AI-assisted tools to improve quality and speed.
• Lead with architecture, code reviews, mentoring, and clear communication.
