Job summary

Tesco UK is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to advance the Digital Design System (DDS) for iOS. You will build reusable components, ensure accessibility, and improve developer tooling across Tesco’s digital estate.

You’ll collaborate with design, product engineering, and DDS peers to keep experiences consistent and scalable, while mentoring colleagues and driving strong engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Senior iOS Engineer with focus on design systems and reusable UI foundations.
• Strong emphasis on accessibility, quality, and developer experience.
• Experience mentoring or leading peers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and evolve DDS platform components for iOS with clear APIs and tests.
• Translate design intent and tokens into production-ready iOS implementation.
• Improve developer experience through documentation, onboarding, and tooling.
• Collaborate with design, accessibility, product engineering, and platform teams.
• Explore AI-assisted tooling to enhance quality, speed, and consistency.
• Lead through senior engineering craft and provide technical clarity.
