Job summary

Markel International in the London Market and Asia Pacific is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to enhance underwriting and claims capabilities through data-driven decision making. You will deliver insights, analytical solutions and dashboards across the IPA team.

You will design data models and automated reporting, lead Power BI development, SQL and Databricks workloads, and collaborate with the Data Platforming function to deploy cloud-native analytics.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering BI, analytics and reporting solutions.
• Strong Power BI development skills with advanced modeling and performance optimization.
• Strong SQL and database development skills for large datasets.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms (Databricks, Data Lake, Azure).
• Experience automating processes and delivering scalable analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver analytics solutions as a senior member of IPA.
• Implement automated reporting and analytics, promoting data-led decision making.
• Evaluate and adopt Genie AI / AI-BI capabilities with governance in mind.
• Lead development, enhancement and governance of Power BI dashboards and assets.
• Collaborate with business colleagues to enhance underwriting, claims and operations analytics.
