Job summary

Markel International is seeking a Senior Claims Analytics Lead within the IPA team to shape the analytics roadmap for International Claims across multiple geographies. You will drive data-driven decision making by building and deploying models, leveraging NLP for claims data, and delivering practical tools used by claims, underwriting and portfolio teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Python or R and SQL in a commercial setting.
• Experience with unstructured claims data and NLP techniques.
• Experience applying analytics to claims or insurance problems (forecasting, triage, severity, recoveries).
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to translate business questions into analytical work.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop the Claims Analytics roadmap with International Claims leadership.
• Lead analytical work from data assessment to building and validating models.
• Integrate claims, policy, exposure, and finance data to improve visibility of claims performance.
• Develop models across lifecycle areas: forecasting, triage, resource planning, recoveries, performance.
• Turn analytics into practical tools and recommendations for claims teams.
