Job summary

Markel International is seeking a Claims Analytics Lead in London, embedded within the IPA team. You will own the analytics roadmap for claims, build and test models, and translate results into practical tools for claims and underwriting teams, driving forecasting and resource planning.

You will collaborate across Data Platforming, BI and the AI Centre of Enablement to establish reliable data foundations and governance for scalable analytics.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in claims analytics and insurance analytics.
• Hands-on experience with statistical or ML models in a commercial setting.
• Ability to turn business questions into analytical work and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop the Claims Analytics roadmap for International Claims.
• Lead analytics work on priority use cases from data assessment to modeling.
• Strengthen data foundations by integrating claims, policy, exposure and finance data.
• Develop models across the claims lifecycle: forecasting, triage, severity and recoveries.
• Ensure insights inform claims, underwriting, portfolio management, actuarial and reserving decisions.
• Turn analytics into practical tools used by claims teams in regular processes.
• Set success measures and communicate progress to claims professionals and senior leaders.
