Job summary

UK Power Networks is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer based at Heathrow, reporting to the Principal Civil Design Engineer. The role requires autonomous design of civil/structural packages for tenders, construction and handover, ensuring safety, compliance and high-quality documentation.

The successful candidate will lead CAD teams, coordinate with clients and contractors, and mentor junior engineers. The position offers a fixed salary of £84,160 with a 3% bonus and attractive benefits.

Qualifications

• MSc Civil Engineering or equivalent required.
• Chartered engineer or near chartered status preferred.
• Experience in civil/structural design for utility/airport infrastructure desired.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously produce civil and structural designs for tendering, construction and handover packages.
• Ensure designs meet hazard reduction, governance and audit requirements.
• Prepare technical, commercial and contractual documentation for procurement of services and products.
• Assess third-party construction activities affecting network assets.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordination with CAD teams.
