Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors in London is seeking a forward deployed engineer to embed with business units, turning friction into production AI and data solutions. You will own projects from initial conversations to live running, partnering with AI Enablement and using Nexus, Accio, and our central MCP server.

The role spans data sourcing, prototyping with the business, and building scalable, secure solutions on Azure with Terraform, Docker, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Four years in a technical, business‑facing engineering role.
• Strong Python and SQL with production applications experience.
• Production experience with LLMs and agent development.
• Experience building data pipelines from APIs and enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Sit with business users to understand workflows and friction.
• Partner with the AI Enablement Partners on escalated demand that needs surface and triage.
• Set realistic expectations on what is feasible and what it will take.
• Design, build, and productionise bespoke, higher‑complexity AI solutions, owning them through to live running.
• Own the architecture and design decisions for your solutions, keeping them secure, scalable, and aligned to the enterprise core stack.
• Take solutions through evaluation, observability, and our AI governance checkpoints, and keep them healthy afterwards.
• Build investment capability on Nexus and make it available across the firm.
• Work with quantitative researchers and investment teams to take models and signals from one desk into a supported, firm‑wide capability.
