Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors in London seeks a Senior Applied AI Engineer to design and deliver agentic applications and platform services, taking them from requirement through evaluation and into production. You will set implementation patterns, review peers’ work, and ensure production systems are understood and extensible.

You will work with Percepta and Nexus, Accio, Libros, and PRISM to deliver enterprise AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• Six+ years in software, data, or platform engineering with production experience.
• Production experience with LLM apps and agentic systems.
• Strong Python and SQL skills for maintainable code.
• Experience owning services in production with monitoring and incident response.
• Mentoring engineers and leading technical work without direct authority.
• Clear communication with engineers, control functions, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build AI products and shared platform services end-to-end, owning streams to live running.
• Create reusable components, libraries, skills, tools, MCP servers, and connectors.
• Implement infrastructure as code, own CI/CD pipelines, and ensure clean ownership and controls.
• Investigate incidents, drive fixes, and address root causes.
• Mentor AI engineers, establish engineering standards, and contribute to SDLC patterns.
• Collaborate with AI Architecture and Forward Deployed teams to scale governed AI platforms.
