Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors is transforming with a firm-wide AI initiative. The Senior Applied AI Engineer will design and build agentic applications and platform services, guiding them through evaluation and governance into production, while partnering with Percepta for enterprise integration.

You will own end-to-end business applications on the AI stack, drive SaaS decommissioning where applicable, and collaborate across trading, risk, and client services with a strong emphasis on governance and

Qualifications

• Six+ years in software, data, or platform engineering with production systems experience.
• Production experience with LLM applications and agentic systems.
• Strong Python and SQL skills for maintainable, scalable code.
• Hands-on experience building agentic capability like MCP servers, tools, or connectors.
• Experience with a major cloud, preferably Azure, including containers, IAM, CI/CD and secret management.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and productionise AI products and shared platform services, owning end-to-end delivery.
• Build for reuse by turning capabilities into shared components and connectors.
• Implement infrastructure as code and manage CI/CD pipelines with clear ownership and controls.
• Investigate incidents and defects, lead recovery, and resolve root causes.
• Mentor engineers and establish team engineering standards and SDLC.
