Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors is seeking a senior leader to guide Forward Deployed Engineers, own the roadmap, and ensure delivery quality across the AI technology program. You will design and produce high‑complexity AI solutions, govern architecture, and partner with stakeholders to align with enterprise strategy while building a capable, scalable team.

The role offers hybrid working, extensive professional development, and a path to grow the team as the business adopts AI at scale.

Qualifications

Eight years in technical, business-facing engineering roles with seniority.
Experience leading engineers as line manager or tech lead.
Strong Python and SQL with production-grade delivery experience.
Production work with LLMs, agent development, and evaluation.
Data pipelines from APIs and enterprise systems; cloud familiarity (Azure).
Ability to own a technical roadmap and defend technology choices.
Excellent stakeholder communication and influencing without direct authority.
Willingness to move from building to leading as the team grows.

Responsibilities

Lead the Forward Deployed Engineering team: hiring, onboarding, objectives and performance.
Own deliverables, standards, and timelines for the team.
Allocate resources across demand and set priorities.
Maintain engineering bar via design/code reviews and mentorship.
Report progress and risks to leadership and stakeholders.
