Job summary

Tesco is seeking a Senior Security Engineer in its Innovation Engineering unit to build AI-powered security capabilities for a large retail ecosystem. You will lead architecture, automate defensive tooling, and advance secure production-ready services with measurable risk reductions.

You will drive security engineering excellence, collaborate acrossSecurity and Technology teams, and shape scalable, governance-aware cyber defence capabilities that protect millions of customers.

Qualifications

• Experience applying AI to cyber defence with measurable outcomes.
• Ability to design, review and refine AI-enabled systems with security in mind.
• Strong understanding of security architecture and threat informed design.
• Proven production-grade tooling, automation, and secure engineering hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver high impact security capabilities from concept to production.
• Embed AI and automation to improve security outcomes with safety guardrails.
• Lead modern engineering practices for cyber defence and maintainability.
• Promote secure, test-driven engineering with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with security and tech teams to drive adoption and measure impact.
• Define evaluation strategies to prove resilience and effectiveness.
