Job summary

Tesco’s Detection Engineering team is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to design security-first infrastructure and deliver automated capabilities protecting Tesco’s global retail ecosystem. You will mentor engineers, drive secure-by-design practices, and partner with Security Operations and product teams to strengthen defences against sophisticated threats.

• Design, build and deploy high‑reliability security capabilities to reduce risk.
• Lead secure, test-driven engineering and peer review across the team.
• Pilot AI-assisted approaches to improve detection lifecycle effectiveness.
• Coach engineers and collaborate with Security Operations and platform teams.
• Communicate with product and engineering stakeholders to deliver integrated defences.
