Job summary

Tesco's Detection Engineering team is seeking a Security Engineer to design and implement advanced monitoring that proactively protects Tesco’s global retail ecosystem. You will deploy scalable detection and prevention solutions, embedding automation and AI to improve accuracy and reduce noise.

You will collaborate with SOC, Threat Intelligence, and platform engineering teams to harden cloud and enterprise environments, translating incident learnings into stronger security practices.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience applying secure coding practices and test-driven development.
• Practical exposure to security platforms (SIEM/EDR) and their role in detection engineering.
• Ability to design, implement and test detection rules at scale with low noise.
• Evidence of curiosity and commitment to professional development.
• Ability to collaborate across diverse, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
