Job summary

Tesco is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer within the Cyber Data Platform team to build and maintain a scalable data platform that enables advanced analytics, machine learning, and GenAI for stronger security defences. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional data teams to ensure secure, resilient data services and mentor junior engineers.

You will design realtime, near realtime and batch architectures, automate data integration from security sources into the security data lake,

Qualifications

• Strong programming in Python and SQL.
• Experience building data platforms on cloud services (Databricks on Azure or BigQuery).
• Proficiency with Spark, Flink, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform, Airflow and dbt.

Responsibilities

• Design realtime, near realtime and batch data architectures for threat detection and reporting.
• Automate data integration from security sources into the security data lake and manage data transformations.
• Maintain high‑quality code through peer reviews and mentoring.
• Implement automation and DevOps practices for deployment and data platform components.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders across teams.
