Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors is undergoing a firm-wide AI transformation. This Senior AI Platform Engineer will own the day-to-day engineering of the AI tooling estate, from Azure AI Foundry to Copilot services, collaborating with AI Engineering, Architecture and Security to deliver secure, scalable AI capabilities.

The role requires deep platform/DevOps experience, strong automation skills, and a track record of managing enterprise SaaS at scale.

Qualifications

• At least five years in platform engineering, software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering.
• Strong automation skills in Python or a comparable language; cloud experience, ideally Azure; IaC, CI/CD, identity, RBAC, and secret management.
• Production experience with LLM APIs or AI platforms.
• Administration of enterprise SaaS or productivity platforms at tenant scale.
• Experience acting as technical owner for software vendors, including licensing, renewals, and cost management.
• Good judgement in a regulated environment; translate security, privacy, risk, and audit requirements into working controls.
• High ownership and comfort with change; bring structure to an unfamiliar product and manage dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and operate the AI tooling estate.
• Own the technical lifecycle of AI tools from discovery to onboarding, upgrades, support, renewal, and retirement.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, policy enforcement, and evidence collection using APIs, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
• Provide L2 support, maintain runbooks and recovery procedures.
• Manage the AI Team’s model gateway and routes to hosted and external model providers, credentials, quotas, routing rules.
• Establish risk-based onboarding processes for new AI products, pilots, and production readiness.
• Collaborate with AI Architecture for buy-versus-build decisions and policy controls.
