Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to lead the design and delivery of agentic AI products and platform services across the enterprise. You will own end-to-end delivery, shape patterns with AI Architecture, and ensure production readiness with governance and observability.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Percepta and other teams, and drive SaaS decommissioning where in-house builds replace subscriptions, delivering scalable, governed AI capabilities for

Qualifications

• At least six years in software, data, or platform engineering with production systems experience.
• Production experience with LLM applications and agentic systems.
• Strong Python and SQL coding skills.
• Hands-on experience building agentic capability such as MCP servers, tools, or connectors.
• Experience with cloud platforms (ideally Azure) and infrastructure as code.
• Experience owning services in production, monitoring, and incident response.
• Good judgement in regulated environments and security considerations.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical work without direct reporting authority.

Responsibilities

• Build and run AI products and shared platform end-to-end.
• Design reusable components, libraries, and connectors for the AI estate.
• Implement infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and retain production ownership.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and drive fixes.
• Mentor AI Engineers and contribute to engineering standards.
• Collaborate with Percepta engineers on Libros and PRISM and align with AI Architecture.
