Job summary

Gallagher in Glasgow seeks a Senior Account Handler to support mid-corporate insurance clients. You will work with the Client Director and team to manage renewals, provide market comparisons, and coordinate documentation across multiple classes of business.

Ideal candidates will have larger commercial insurance experience, CII qualification preferred, and excellent client service and communication skills. This role is based in Glasgow with a focus on delivering accurate, compliant service.

Qualifications

• Experience in larger commercial or corporate insurance.
• Cert CII preferred; progression towards Dip CII/ACII advantageous but not essential.
• Proven ability to meet targets within a regulated framework and deliver service standards.
• Strong client service focus with confident communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare renewal terms and market alternatives; present to Account Executives.
• Coordinate renewal quotes and mid-term adjustments for existing clients.
• Manage insurer queries and confirm cover; follow up on documentation.
• Review policy documents for accuracy before sharing with clients.
• Handle account queries and credit control matters; escalate as needed.
• Apply relevant legal and regulatory requirements when supporting clients.

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Account Handler to join our expanding corporate team in Glasgow.

At Gallagher, our clients are at the heart of everything we do. You’ll be part of a collaborative and ambitious team focused on delivering exceptional client outcomes, building trusted relationships, and supporting continued business growth.

Working closely with the Client Director and wider team, you’ll support existing clients and new business opportunities by applying your technical knowledge and communicating clearly and confidently. You’ll help deliver excellent service across a variety of sectors, within the mid-corporate space.

How you'll make an impact

• Prepare accurate documentation for new clients, ensuring their insurance requirements are clearly understood and reflected.
• Obtain renewal terms, research suitable market alternatives, and prepare client presentations for review with Account Executives.
• Coordinate renewal quotes and mid-term adjustments for existing clients, ensuring client information is recorded accurately and updated promptly on internal systems.
• Manage insurer queries relating to client policies, including confirming cover, processing policies, and following up on outstanding documentation.
• Review policy documentation received from insurers, checking accuracy before presenting to clients.
• Handle account queries and credit control matters, escalating any concerns to Account Managers in a timely manner.
• Understand and apply relevant legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements when supporting clients and managing insurance contracts.

About you

• Experience in larger commercial or corporate insurance across multiple classes of business.
• Cert CII qualification is preferred; progress towards Dip CII or ACII would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Proven ability to work to targets within a regulated and measurable framework, consistently achieving agreed service standards.
• Strong risk awareness when handling client information, with the judgement to identify potential issues and seek guidance where required.
• Excellent relationship-building skills, with a strong client service focus and confident communication style.
• Organised, proactive, and process-driven, with the ability to plan ahead, meet deadlines, and analyse information effectively.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the initiative to support colleagues and contribute to team success.
• Fully proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
