Job summary

Gallagher in Bournemouth is hiring an Insurance Account Handler to service a growing client book across the UK. You’ll drive renewals, pursue new business, and support colleagues to meet client demands with proactive communication.

You’ll bring solid general insurance knowledge, discuss terms with clients and brokers, and deliver excellent service, with opportunities for Chartered Institute qualifications and career development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar insurance handler role.
• Strong knowledge of general insurance products and services.
• Knowledge of London Market, Lloyd's and industry networks.
• Desirable: Chartered Institute qualifications (Dip CII/Cert CII).
• Due diligence in administration, policy documents and processes.
• Excellent client service focus; client is the priority.
• Ability to generate and drive new business with clear communication.
• Effective communication across phone, email and in-person.
• Comfort with ambiguity and high attention to detail.
• Willing to work in the UK and meet residentship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and grow a book of business by securing new leads and managing renewals.
• Oversee renewal and new business processes for clients; gather information from clients and prospects.
• Discuss renewal terms with customers and brokers and seek competitive options.
• Meet with clients as appropriate to strengthen relationships.

Would you like to join a team of expert Insurance Account Handlers? Our encouraging and ambitious team are looking to hire the newest member to join their dynamic office.

Working for a global strength in the insurance market, responsible for servicing accounts in an efficient, flexible manner.

Supporting your peers to meet client demands, achieve both renewal retention and growth rates.

You’re driven, hardworking and business focused, whilst keeping our clients at the heart of your actions.

How you'll make an impact

• Maintain and grow your book of business by chasing and securing new business leads
• Control the renewal and new business processes for your clients.Gather information from Clients and Prospects using superb communication skills
• Openly discuss renewal terms with customers and seek alternatives to discuss with them. Talk to brokers and gain access to the most competitive terms that meet your clients’ objectives!
• Meet with clients as appropriate, it's here that your interpersonal skills will shine
• Assess account queries and credit control matters, resolve efficiently and raise any concerns with the right team

About You

• Previous experience working within a similar role is essential
• A strong working knowledge of general insurance products, services, classes of insurance
• Strong knowledge of client market and insurance industry network, London Market, Lloyds and Industry
• Holding/working towards one of the Chartered Insurance Institute Qualifications: Dip CII/ Cert CII is preferred (we can also provide support in pursuing this)
• Due diligence in administration, policy documents and processes
• Excellent client service focus; the customer is always your top priority
• Generate and driving new business using exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients across various avenues (phone, email, face-to-face)
• Actively deal with ambiguity and have outstanding accuracy and attention to detail
• Continually building your industry knowledge and seeking development
• Eligible to work in the UK
