Job summary

E-ACT Ilminster Avenue Academy in Bristol is seeking a passionate SENDCO to lead our inclusive provision, working with staff, families and external agencies to oversee SEND identification, assessment and provision planning, with some ad hoc teaching.

This permanent, part-time role (26 hours per week) carries a competitive salary and SEND allowance, and requires strong data analysis, collaboration and leadership to improve outcomes for pupils with SEND.

Qualifications

• QTS or recognised equivalent.
• Experience supporting and improving outcomes for pupils with SEND, including those with complex needs.
• Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice, EHCP processes and SEND legislation.
• Experience leading or coordinating SEND provision within a school.
• Ability to analyse pupil progress data to inform interventions and planning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, families and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and evaluate the academy's SEND provision and ensure high-quality support for pupils.
• Act as SENDCO and oversee SEND identification, assessment and statutory processes.
• Manage and coordinate the Enhanced Provision and bespoke support programmes.
• Collaborate with staff to promote inclusive teaching and curriculum adaptations.
• Monitor pupil progress, analyse SEND data and implement targeted interventions.
