Job summary

Fernhurst Primary School is seeking a knowledgeable SENDCo on a 0.4 contract to lead and coordinate provision for pupils with SEND, ensuring inclusive, high-quality support that enables every child to thrive.

The SENDCo will collaborate with the Headteacher, staff, families and external agencies to identify needs, monitor progress and review interventions, while safeguarding and promoting inclusion across the school.

Qualifications

Hold, or be willing to work towards, the National Award for SEN Coordination.
Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
Excellent communicator and collaborative team member.
Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive education and high aspirations for all pupils.

Responsibilities

Lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school.
Ensure compliance with statutory SEND requirements and maintain accurate records.
Coordinate the identification, assessment and review of pupils with SEND.
Support and advise staff on inclusive classroom practice and interventions.
Monitor the progress and wellbeing of pupils with SEND and evaluate the impact of provision.
Liaise effectively with parents/carers and external professionals.
Contribute to safeguarding, equality and inclusion agendas.
