Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking a SEND Emotional Support Facilitator to join the Foundation and Additional Learning Support department at The Bedford College Group. As a SEND Emotional Support Facilitator, you will provide high-quality emotional, social and behavioural support to students with SEND and EHCPs, promoting wellbeing and readiness to learn.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification with GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) and ELSA qualification or willingness to achieve.
• Experience supporting young people with SEND in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, safeguarding, equality and diversity.
• Strong interpersonal, boundary-setting and communication with stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational and IT skills; ability to manage workloads and produce reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emotional, social and behavioural support to students with SEND and EHCPs.
• Manage the Haven provision to create a safe and structured environment.
• Plan and deliver tailored 1:1 and group ELSA-based interventions and mentoring.
• Facilitate friendship-building, communication and social skills through Haven activities and events.
• Collaborate with staff, parents/carers and external agencies; maintain accurate records and uphold safeguarding.
