SEND Teaching Assistants – Flexible daily and short-term roles available immediately. We are currently recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to work across schools in Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding areas. Whether you're looking for full-time or part-time work, we can offer placements that suit your availability and preferences.

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs in both classroom and one-to-one settings
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • Help create a structured and inclusive learning environment
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other support staff to implement individual education plans
  • Provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour to teaching staff
  • Support pupils during transitions and break times
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and inclusive practices
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • Resilient, patient and empathetic approach
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, psychology or youth work (desirable)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
