Long Term Futures is seeking a passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND and SEMH in a Dudley-based SEN school. The role involves 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils access lessons, and promoting emotional regulation in a nurturing environment.

You will work with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to implement EHCPs and individual behaviour plans, building strong relationships and promoting positive outcomes for learners.

Formación

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND/SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Experience in SEN settings or Alternative Provision is advantageous.
• Good understanding of ASC, ADHD, learning difficulties and SEMH needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient; able to stay composed in challenging situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND/SEMH.
• Assist pupils in accessing lessons and activities tailored to abilities.
• Support emotional regulation, social interaction and positive behaviour.
• Build trusting relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.
• Use behaviour management and de-escalation strategies as needed.
• Help pupils develop independence, resilience and confidence.
• Support EHCPs and individual behaviour plans.
• Create a calm and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and pastoral teams.
