Job summary

Long Term Futures is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the inclusion team at a welcoming primary school in Handsworth, Birmingham. You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO and support staff to help pupils with EHCPs access learning, develop independence and thrive in the classroom.

You'll provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support, implement individual targets, and assist children with autism, ADHD and other learning needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
• Good understanding of EHCPs and individual support plans.
• A patient, nurturing and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for inclusive education.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with EHCPs.
• Implement individual learning targets and SEN support strategies.
• Support children with autism, ADHD, communication difficulties and additional learning needs.
• Work alongside the inclusion team to create a positive, supportive learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and encourage confidence and independence.
