Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN School in Walsall. The role involves 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND, helping them access tailored learning activities and implement EHCP strategies.

The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and other needs. This is a long-term, temp-to-perm opportunity with weekly pay and CPD opportunities.

Formación

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND is highly desirable.
• Experience working within an SEN school, mainstream school, Alternative Provision, or similar setting would be advantageous.
• A good understanding of ASC, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, or other additional needs.

Responsabilidades

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND.
• Supporting pupils to access learning activities tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
• Implementing strategies outlined within pupils' Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement with learning.
• Managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
• Building strong, trusting relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
• Supporting pupils with personal care where required, in line with individual care plans.
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing regular feedback to teaching staff.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure positive outcomes.
