Job summary

St Mary's C of E Primary School is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND in a Key Stage 2 setting and possibly other classes. The role involves working with class teachers and the SENDCo to help children access learning and reach EHCP outcomes.

You will build trusting relationships, support emotional regulation, provide breaks, adapt activities and promote inclusion while working as part of a collaborative team to support pupils across the school.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting children with SEND is advantageous.
• Ability to build nurturing relationships with children.
• Calm, resilient and solution-focused approach.
• Inclusive practice to enable every child to succeed.
• Willingness to learn and meet children where they are.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support pupils to regulate emotions and behaviour.
• Provide sensory breaks and movement breaks.
• Adapt activities to enable access to the curriculum.
• Encourage inclusion and participation.
• Work with the SENDCo and teachers to ensure support.
• Support pupils across the school when required.
