Job summary

Class Act is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 2–19 with a range of additional learning needs in a specialist provision. You will work one-to-one and in small groups, assisting teachers with tailored activities and helping pupils access the curriculum while promoting wellbeing and positive behaviour.

Based in England, the role offers an immediate start with pay through PAYE. Experience in SEND and Team Teach training are advantageous; safeguarding and inclusive practice

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting pupils with ASD, MLD, or PMLD.
• Experience in a special school or SEND environment is desirable.
• Team Teach training is highly advantageous.
• Patient, resilient, and caring approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding practices.
• Commitment to supporting children and young people with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and achieve individual learning goals.
• Support communication, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and parents where required.
• Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
