Job summary

Burton Borough School in Newport, Shropshire-Staffordshire border, seeks a caring Teaching Assistant to join the SEND team. The role supports students with additional needs to access learning, build confidence and achieve potential in a nurturing school environment.

Working under the SENDCo and HLTA, you will help deliver EHCPs and may assist with personal care. Training will be provided; Enhanced DBS checks are required to safeguard students.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people is desirable, but not essential; training and development will be provided.
• Ability to support students with SEND to access learning and develop confidence.
• Willingness to undertake Enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support for students with SEND under guidance of SENDCo and HLTA.
• Help deliver high-quality provision and contribute to EHCP implementation.
• Support students with personal care where required as part of a nurturing school environment.
