Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND and those in an Alternative Provision setting at a large Portsmouth school.

The role focuses on access to learning, emotional regulation, and engaging students in classroom and social activities across primary and secondary phases. The ideal candidate will have experience with children or young people facing barriers to learning, GCSEs in English and Maths, and a patient, resilient attitude.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, EBD and other additional needs.
• Building positive, respectful, and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviour strategies.
• Working with individuals and small groups both inside and outside the classroom.
• Encouraging engagement in learning and social activities.
• Helping students develop confidence, resilience, and independence.
• Assisting teaching staff in creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Following behaviour, safeguarding, and support plans consistently.
