Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist primary setting in Rochdale. This is a full-time, long-term temporary role from September 2026.

The school supports pupils aged 3-11 with complex needs including Autism, SEMH, communication difficulties, sensory needs and severe learning difficulties. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, manage behaviour and emotions to support learning, and collaborate closely with teachers, therapists and wider

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a SEND setting or specialist provision.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour.
• Confidence working in high-needs environments.
• Eligible to work in the UK with clear history and references.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to meet learning targets.
• Assist with managing behaviour, emotions and regulation strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff.
• Support EHCP targets and individual learning plans.
• Record progress, incidents and interventions as required.
