Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Marple area of Stockport, supporting a child with complex SEND on a 1:1 basis. Immediate start and full-time, long-term contract.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to provide tailored, consistent support that helps the pupil access learning and participate fully in the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience with children with SEND, including complex needs.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Calm, patient, and consistent approach.
• Team Teach/positive handling training desirable.
• Moving & Handling training advantageous.
• Ability to work as part of a wider school team.

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Marple area of Stockport, supporting a child with complex SEND requirements on a 1:1 basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and can build a strong, positive relationship with the pupil they are working with.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing tailored support to a child with complex additional needs, helping them to access learning and develop both academically and socially. The role will involve working closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team to provide consistent, individualised support.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working with children with SEND, particularly complex needs
• Strong behaviour management skills
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• A calm, patient and consistent approach
• Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour or complex needs
• Team Teach / positive handling training would be highly desirable
• Moving & Handling training would be advantageous
• The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
