Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a Walton-le-Dale primary setting in Preston. The role is long-term, term-time with immediate start, working alongside the class teacher and SENDCO to provide targeted learning and emotional support.

Qualifications

• Experience with primary/SEND settings is required or advantageous.
• Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification preferred (CACHE/NVQ).
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain.
• Two professional references.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 academic, emotional, and social support to a pupil inside and outside the classroom.
• Implement EHCP targets, adapting tasks into accessible activities.
• Support positive behaviour management and de-escalation.
• Facilitate sensory breaks and motor activities.
• Encourage independence and positive peer interaction.
• Maintain daily logs and feedback to teacher/SENDCO/parents.
• Uphold safeguarding policies.
