Job summary

Engage Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant in Rochdale for a full academic year, Monday to Friday, September 2026–July 2027. You will provide tailored 1:1 and small group SEN support to pupils with complex needs and work closely with the school SENCO to monitor progress.

The role offers paid term-time days (£90–£95 per day), free online CPD courses, and a guaranteed TA qualification upon completion of an 11-month course. Possibility to join the school permanently.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in any capacity.
• Psychology, Education Studies or Neuroscience graduates desirable.
• Naturally outgoing and engaging individual with interest in teaching.
• Enhanced DBS on update service desirable but NOT mandatory.
• Open to full-time work beginning September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Conducting specifically tailored 1:1 & small group support for children with SEN.
• Creating warm and inspiring atmosphere for children throughout school day.
• Creating and sustaining meaningful rapport with students.
• Communicating with colleagues and reporting to school SENCO.
• Located in one Rochdale secondary school for full academic year.
