Job summary

Kisharon Noé School in London is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Apprentices to join a specialist education team and begin a rewarding career in education. The apprenticeship offers a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standard (SEND Pathway) with online tutor support.

Salary is £8.00 per hour with an automatic pay increase after one year for 19+ year olds. Hours are 35.5 per week, Monday to Friday, for 18 months, with training and progression opportunities within the school.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils to engage in lessons, activities and the wider school day.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups under the direction of the class teacher.
• Support pupils with communication, social interaction, independence and life skills.
• Help children and young people access a highly personalised curriculum and achieve their individual goals.
• Prepare learning resources and contribute to maintaining an organised and stimulating learning environment.
• Support pupils with additional communication, sensory and behavioural needs using agreed strategies.
• Support pupils with communication, sensory needs, behaviour, mobility, personal care, eating and drinking where required.
• Observe pupils' progress and contribute to records and feedback for the class team.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals.
• Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
