Job summary

Engage Education is recruiting an Apprentice SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant SEN team at a large 2-form entry primary school in Bury, starting October 2026.

This 11-month paid apprenticeship offers a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (CACHE) and mentoring from the school’s SEN team and Engage Education consultant. You will gain hands-on experience supporting children with additional needs.

Qualifications

• Commitment to completing the full 11-month apprenticeship.
• GCSE Maths & English Grade C/4+ (or equivalent) is required.
• A passion for supporting children with SEN and a caring attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with additional needs (including Autism, ADHD, communication needs, and physical/learning difficulties)
• Assist pupils with tailored learning activities, speech & language targets, and sensory breaks
• Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development in a safe, nurturing environment
• Assist class teachers and the SENCo with resource preparation and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Help encourage positive behaviour and promote independence in classroom activities

Engage Education is recruiting an Apprentice SEN Teaching Assistant to join the thriving SEN team at a vibrant, large 2-form entry primary school in Bury.

This is a dedicated 11-month apprenticeship programme. We are seeking a reliable, motivated individual who is fully committed to signing the learning agreement and completing the full 11-month journey to gain their Level 3 qualification.

• Eligibility: Not currently enrolled in another government-funded course
