Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND in a West Derby primary setting. The role starts September 2026 and is full-time, working across KS1 and KS2.

You will provide targeted support, promote positive behaviour, and work closely with teachers and SENDCo to implement tailored strategies. The role emphasizes safeguarding, inclusion, and collaboration with families and external professionals.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with SEND or additional needs.
• Strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
• A calm, patient and consistent approach.
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A flexible, proactive and supportive approach.
• A genuine commitment to inclusion and safeguarding.

The Role
