Job summary

Aspire People Limited in Liverpool is seeking a SEND Teacher to join a welcoming specialist setting. You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons for children with complex learning and communication needs, using EHCPs to set targets and review progress.

Join a supportive team including SENCO, therapists and teaching assistants to provide the best possible support while maintaining safeguarding practices and regular communication with parents.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching children with SEND including Autism, communication needs, SLD and PMLD.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum and SEND teaching strategies.
• Ability to inspire and lead support staff within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.

• Adapt teaching strategies to ensure access to the curriculum for all pupils.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Using Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to set, monitor and review personalised learning targets.
• Adapting teaching strategies and resources to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
• Working collaboratively with the SENCO, therapists, teaching assistants and other professionals to provide the best possible support.
• Building positive relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on pupil progress.
• Promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.
• Following all safeguarding, SEND and school policies to ensure the wellbeing of every pupil.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including Autism, communication needs, SLD and PMLD.
• A strong understanding of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum and effective SEND teaching strategies.
• The ability to inspire and lead support staff while working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
• A compassionate, patient and flexible approach with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
