Job summary

Aspire People are currently recruiting dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to work across a range of welcoming and inclusive primary schools in Sefton, Aintree and Maghull. Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs.
• Caring, patient and empathetic approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships and gain pupil trust.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

• Genuine commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and pupil welfare.
• Ability to adapt to different school environments and pupil needs.
• Two professional references.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEND across KS1 and KS2.
• Support pupils to access the curriculum through appropriate strategies and differentiated activities.
• Work with teachers and SENDCos to implement individual support plans.
• Promote independence, confidence, positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Help pupils engage with learning and develop social skills.
• Build strong, trusting relationships and provide consistent support.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, parents and external professionals.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you may be responsible for:

• Providing targeted one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEND across KS1 and KS2.
• Supporting pupils to access the curriculum through appropriate strategies, adaptations and differentiated activities.
• Working alongside class teachers and SENDCos to implement individual support plans and agreed strategies.
• Promoting independence, confidence, positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
• Helping pupils to engage positively with learning and develop their social skills.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and providing consistent support.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and external professionals where appropriate.
• Supporting an inclusive classroom environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from Teaching Assistants who have:

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs.
• A caring, patient and empathetic approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships and gain the trust of pupils.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• A flexible and collaborative approach to working as part of a school team.
• A genuine commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and children's welfare.
• The ability to adapt to different school environments and pupil needs.
• Two professional references.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
