Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking SEND Teachers for long-term supply across Thetford and surrounding areas, starting as soon as possible.

You will support pupils with a range of SEND needs in mainstream and specialist settings, delivering high-quality lessons, differentiating for individual targets, and collaborating with SENCOs and support staff to ensure inclusive provision.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent is required.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND in mainstream or specialist settings.
• Strong differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies are essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning to pupils with SEND across various schools.
• Adapt lessons to meet individual needs and EHCP targets.
• Collaborate with support staff and SENCOs to ensure effective provision.
• Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.

Duties as SEND Teacher:

• Collaborate with support staff and SENCOs to ensure effective provision
• Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment
• Provide feedback and contribute to pupil progress reviews

Ideal SEND Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience working with children with SEND in mainstream or specialist settings
• Strong understanding of differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills as a SEND Teacher
• Flexible, reliable, and confident working across different schools
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
