Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking a SEND Teacher for long-term supply across Thetford and surrounding areas, starting as soon as possible. You will support pupils with a range of additional needs in mainstream and specialist provisions, helping to create inclusive and engaging learning environments.

You will deliver high-quality teaching, adapt lessons to EHCP targets, collaborate with support staff and SENCOs, maintain a safe classroom, provide progress feedback, and uphold safeguarding policies.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent is required.
  • Experience working with children with SEND in mainstream or specialist settings.
  • Strong ability to differentiate and apply inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills for SEND environments.
  • Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS via Update Service or equivalent.

Ideal SEND Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with children with SEND in mainstream or specialist settings
  • Strong understanding of differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills as a SEND Teacher
  • Flexible, reliable, and confident working across different schools
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
