Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a Coventry school, to support pupils with a range of SEND needs including PMLD, SLD, MLD and ASD. This day-to-day role offers an immediate start with long-term potential and requires patience, resilience and strong behavioural management.

You will work with a supportive team to deliver tailored activities, monitor progress, and help students develop academically, socially and emotionally in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND: PMLD, SLD, MLD, ASD.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to adapt lessons to meet individual learning requirements.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, resilient, and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to help students build confidence and relationships.
