Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for roles across Stoke-on-Trent with an ASAP start. You will support pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties and other needs, helping them engage with lessons and participate in activities.

The successful candidate will have experience with SEND/SEMH, manage challenging behaviours, and work confidently within a classroom. This PAYE role offers market pay rates and a supportive onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND/SEMH needs.
• Experience supporting children who display challenging behaviours.
• Confidence working within a classroom environment.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
• A positive can-do attitude and willingness to get involved.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils to engage with learning and participate in activities in a classroom setting.
• Assist teachers by implementing support plans and strategies for pupils with SEND.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment and monitor pupil wellbeing.
