Job summary

St Aidan's Catholic Primary School in Wigan is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with SEND in small groups or 1:1, following individual Care Plans and working with staff, parents and external agencies to meet each child’s needs.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations for pupil achievement, be a team player, adapt to new ideas, and fully support the school's ethos.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in small groups or 1:1.
• Ability to follow individual Care Plans as directed.
• Excellent communication with parents and staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Responsibilities

• support the needs of children with SEND on a small group or 1:1 basis
• work closely with staff, parents and outside agencies
• be able to cater for the individual needs of the children and to use initiative based upon situations as they arise
• follow individual Care Plans as directed
• provide detailed feedback to the SENDCo, teacher and parents
• create supportive and trusting relationships with parents with an honest and open approach
• work with and learn alongside other professionals
