Job summary

TimePlan Education Group Limited is seeking a Teaching Assistant in Greater Manchester to support children with SEN and SEMH. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with academic, social and emotional development within a calm, inclusive learning environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Level 2 qualification, are patient and resilient, and can build positive relationships with pupils and staff. Term-time, full-time position with ongoing SEN training and safeguarding focus.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children and young people with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Level 2 qualification or equivalent required.
  • Patient, resilient, calm under pressure; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN and SEMH.
  • Support pupils to access learning and overcome barriers.
  • Deliver planned learning, wellbeing and SEMH interventions.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Support EHCP targets, behaviour plans and individual learning plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and use de-escalation strategies.
  • Support emotional regulation, confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Assist teachers with learning activities and classroom resources.
  • Support pupils during transitions, breaktimes, lunchtimes and visits.
  • Monitor progress, behaviour and safeguarding concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team.
