Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment. You will help pupils with SEND access learning, develop independence and reach their full potential.

As a SEND TA you will work with class teachers, SENCOs and support staff to deliver tailored interventions for learners with ASC, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, and other additional needs, fostering a safe, inclusive classroom and positive relationships.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Patience, empathy and a proactive approach are important.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Assist in delivering personalised learning activities and interventions.
• Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals where required.
