Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary school in Salford. This full-time, on-site role starts ASAP and runs Monday to Friday during school hours, supporting pupils with complex SEND and helping them access the curriculum.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, work closely with teachers, and help develop communication, social and independence skills while promoting safeguarding and a nurturing classroom environment.

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex SEND.
• Supporting pupils to access the secondary curriculum and engage in learning.
• Helping young people develop their communication, social and independence skills.
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Building positive, trusting and respectful relationships with students.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Supporting pupils both within lessons and during social times.
• Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence.
• Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals to meet individual needs.
• Helping maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing school environment.
